About us
We believe international cooperation transforms lives when it is managed with rigour, sensitivity and respect for people and places.
Our story
Chardet Foundation was born from the conviction that the most vulnerable people and communities deserve real opportunities to build a dignified future.
Based in Ecuador, with sister entities in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Brazil, the foundation brings together resources, knowledge and partnerships to advance social, cultural and environmental initiatives in Latin America and Africa.
We work alongside civil society organisations, communities and educational institutions, supporting each project from evaluation to implementation with due diligence and international regulatory compliance.
Our purpose
To promote, manage and support social, cultural and environmental projects that sustainably improve the quality of life of vulnerable people and communities, bringing together international resources and partnerships with transparency, ethics and responsibility.
To be a leading international foundation in cooperation for sustainable development, recognised for its integrity, the real impact of its projects and its respect for nature, culture and the dignity of peoples.
To always act with rigour and discretion, placing people and the planet at the centre of every decision.
Our identity
Our emblem brings together eight stars representing the principles that guide every one of our actions.
It symbolises empathy, compassion and nobility of spirit. It is the colour of wisdom and of visibility for sensitive causes: the pursuit of equity, health and the integral well-being of those who need it most.
Each star is a principle. Together they express the dignity and unity that give meaning to our work.
We share causes and efforts with those who need it most.
